About Ilan J. Danan MD

Ilan J. Danan, M.D, M.Sc. is a Sports Neurologist and Interventional Pain Management Physician specializing in the management and treatment of sports-related neurological injury and complications. He specializes in the treatment of spine and musculoskeletal pain using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Danan is one of only a few hundred Adult Neurologists in the nation to be double-certified in both Neurology and Brain Injury Medicine. He has been involved in sports sideline physician care for several years, with a continued commitment in providing the same high-quality care to his entire patient base.

Dr. Danan began his studies at Rutgers University — The State University of New Jersey. He then went on to obtain his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, before attending medical school at St. George's University. Dr. Danan completed his Neurology residency training at New York Medical College, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year of training. He went on to fellowship training, serving as the Sports Neurology fellow at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in 2015.

Dr. Danan is an active speaker, having spoken at the American Academy of Neurology, the AAN Sports Concussion Conference, and the 5th International Consensus Conference on Concussion in Sport in Berlin, to name a few. His passion for sports and neuroscience has led to him towards pursuing additional clinical interests, with his attention focused on neurocognitive training's role in improving performance and recovery.

Dr. Danan is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
